Circle of Trust Retreats
Feedback from participants in the Mindful Care retreat, March, 2013
Thank you for the retreat. It was a very positive experience for me. This was most palpable on Monday morning. I was reporting in to inpatient service, which is not my favorite duty, and typically triggers a stronger feeling of dread with accompanying muscle tension. This Monday, I was completely free of both of these feelings! That is very persuasive evidence. - TF, MD
I was able to experience the weekend mindfully and that was therapeutic in and of itself aside from the great content… I gained insight into myself and my reactions/thoughts and learned tools and strategies to add to and to enhance my mindfulness journey. I also heard great ideas from you and the group re daily practices and things I can do for myself, my colleagues, and patients… I can’t wait to do it here at work!
Thank you! I so appreciated how you conducted the retreat – your passion for what you do is so evident. As others commented, I felt safe and welcome and accepted – nice feelings! - KT, MD
I gained a great deal from the retreat (including a couple of pounds from all the good food!)… choosing to develop my own practice was very helpful. I enjoyed the use of the arts, poetry, in particular, to get at the corners and crevices of psyche in a tender and thoughtful way… The mechanics of the retreat could not be improved upon at all, in my opinion… I think this retreat should be made more available to all providers of care.
The retreat, to me, was a gift. It was humbling, and edifying and I thank you, Al, for providing this forum. - MM, NP
