About Psychotherapy
In the 18 years I've been a practicing psychologist, I've seen psychotherapy change people's lives in profound ways.  What we do in a psychotherapy is more than "talking about your problems" -- it's an active way of discovering new ways to look at and think about your life, behavioral techniques to help you change negative ways of feeling such as fear and anxiety, skill-building to learn how to deal with difficult situations and relationships, and much more.
About Mindful Practice
Regular mindful practice can reduce emotional and physiological reactivity, and is a highly effective way of managing stress.  It's goes beyond that, however, and is also a way of finding greater understanding, insight and clarity in daily life.  We can also use it to develop discernment about what direction to take, and what is ours to do, when we face the most important and challenging questions of our lives and careers.
About Courage Work
"Courage work" refers to the retreats and other experiences associated with the Center for Courage & Renewal, the organization founded by educator and author Parker Palmer.  These activities include Circle of Trust® and Courage to Lead® retreats, the Center's Health Care Institute and Leadership Training, and many other activities.  "Courage" processes are often used in other LifePath activities, and I'm pleased to be a facilitator-in-preparation with the Center.
